having a great relationship with food should be normal Unfortunately for most now that's just not the case, with obesity and been over weight ruining the population of the planet and now everybody you speak to on some type of diet, peoples relationships with food are as now bizarre as they are complex.
Yet even more crazy is that the very people you turn to, personal trainers, bootcamps and gyms are ruining your relationship further, with the terminology they use and they practices they have you do. Since when did food become bad, or sinful, or good or even super, because no single food has the ability to be anything of the sort, unless you of course have some type of allergy, but that's not what we are discussing here, nor is any single food gonna give you superman like health, we need to stop attaching crazy meanings to food, its not helping, no burger ever cheated on you so its committed no sin. If we take and look at weight loss, what causes weigh loss ? - Been in a calorie deficit What will it take for us to be able to adhere to been in a calorie deficit long term, to be able to be successful with weight loss and may I add keep that weight off ? - Sustainability So then why would we eat in a way that we know is gonna set us up to fail long term, what if we simply became accountable for the amount we eat, over eating, over consuming calories causes weight gain they same way eating less causes weight loss. Then we have personal trainers preaching to you about meal prepping, a pet hate right now, and yes I used to be one of them obsessed types that wouldn't leave the house without all my meals prepped for the day ahead, I used to spend hours batch cooking, but I had reason for this, I used to be obese and when I went and lost over 100lbs I did it in such a regimented way that I developed just as many bad habits as I did when I became over weight. You can only imagine how I used to freak out when I couldn't prep, hardly a way to live and certainly not sustainable . I remember turning many dates down when id lost over 100lbs and become a little desirbale to females again, what a knob I must have sounded when I said couldn't possibly go out for a meal, how would I know what I was eating, it wasn't my high carb day, yes I actually said that, what a twat, sounded like a bigger twat, all because id developed bad habits, and built bad relationships with food in the process, all because id become so scared of regaining any weight if I didn't meal prep. Whats even more crazy is that the very process that I thought helped me lose weight ( which was because of a calorie deficit by the way ) eventually led me to gaining weight anyway, I mean yes I never went anywhere near where I used to be, but once id got sick of living like a fxxking monk and finally found myself in a serious relationship id had enough and wanted normality. Having to rebuild my relationship with food took time, not to mention the metabolism needed some help ( a story for another time ) but figuring out that I didnt need to live that way was a real turning point in my life and in the future been able to help coach others not make the mistakes I did, I guess because we had no internet or very slow dial up and no social media access to real information was harder to come by back then, where as now there is an abundance but crazy enough people don't want to actually believe what it actually can take to lose weight and keep it off and have good health, they believe all the bullshit and quick fix fad diets that come along that will help instal their belief further that weight loss is hard and you must adhere to living like a monk to lose weight, not been able to have a life. It just really doesn't have to be this way, I can say after been through several weight loss cycles the easiest I've ever lost weight is right now, I've currently just lost 3st just to show that I can eat what I want as long as I'm in a calorie deficit, I've never been fitter, healthier or happier, not a bad way to be after losing some weight. Thats why my coaching programs, my bootcamp and my unlimited personal training groups are all taught about why and how to make weight loss sustainable and that we don't have to ever fucking meal prep, that means no break downs when your partners want to go out for a meal or worse still, you have to take a family holiday, god forbid the holiday, you can't meal prep and now your going to gain crazy amounts of weight, I actually know of one of these personal trainers that really did take a set of weighing scales on holiday......seriously, crazy or what. I'm proud of the fact that my fitness business, my gym business leads the way in hartlepool in teaching people how to build great habits thats sustainable and that all the family benefits from, regardless of if its mam, dad, son or daughter that I help. Stop the crazy practices and terminology and find something that you can easily stick to doing, and if you can't do it alone, get some help, save yourself valuable life time to be able to go enjoy yourself.
